Industrial Automation India
Mechanical and plant engineering will also feature strongly, with a major focus on components for machine and plant automation. Deutsche Messe AG, organizer of the event, indicates that 150 companies including such industry leaders as ABB, Lapp, Rittal and Siemens will exhibit on 21,520 square feet of display area.
Approximately 60 percent of exhibiting companies will come from outside of India, with Germany, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, the UK and the U.S. representing the biggest foreign exhibitor contingents.
U.S. companies currently registered to exhibit include Apex Precision Agencies, I & I Fisnar Inc., Rimtec Corporation and Tyco Electronics Corporation. The Lapp Group from Stuttgart, Germany, will account for the biggest individual exhibit with 1,291 square feet. CEO and board spokesperson Andreas Lapp, who has also been honorary consul for India since 2001, comments: India is an exceptionally attractive market. We have been active here for many years now producing in India for the Indian market. Our trade fair involvement is more than just an excellent platform for presenting our technology it is also an opportunity to cultivate our business relations with our various clients and other contacts in Bangalore. The Lapp Group is one of the worlds leading manufacturers of industrial cables and connectors.
With Indias industrial production continuing to expand at a dynamic rate, the challenge of meeting quality standards has become a priority. Many manufacturing sectors in India are registering double digit growth rates. As the economy becomes more accessible to global market players, Indian manufacturers are realizing they must modernize their production plants and processes in order to stay competitive. This applies to every facet of industrial automation. As a result there has been a dramatic increase in the demand for modern production technology and high-performance systems.
Approximately 75 percent of automation technology needs are currently met by imports. India turns to the import market in particular for high-precision, high-performance machine tools. The main clients are big foreign companies with production plants in India, but demand among Indian companies is also increasing.
The program of economic reform and market liberalization that has been in place for the past seven years has been successful on many fronts. The economy of the Indian sub-continent is booming and industrial companies are in the grip of wide-sweeping modernization. With an average growth rate of eight percent, India is the third fastest-growing economy after Russia and China. Due to market liberalization and the opening up of the Indian market, the country has also seen a marked rise in foreign trade. Between April and December 2006 alone, imports increased by 36 percent to a value of 131.2 billion US dollars.
INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION INDIA will take place in the new Bangalore International Exhibition Center, which is considered to be the most modern purpose-built exhibition venue in India. The trade fair takes place at the same time and at the same Bangalore venue as CeMAT INDIA: International Trade Fair for Intralogistics and MDA INDIA: International Trade Fair for Motion, Drive and Automation. The tried-and-tested strategy of staging several related fairs under one roof gives visitors an excellent opportunity to obtain an informed, interdisciplinary overview of automation technology for various sectors and applications.
