The S7-300F is an ideal logic solver for burner management systems, says John Cusimano, manager of Process Safety Systems for Siemens Energy & Automation. The S7-300F has the footprint, programming tools and cost structure of an ordinary PLC, but with certification to IEC 61508 up to SIL 3 from TÜV. Best of all, the S7-300F achieves this without any additional hardware or requiring the user to implement any special diagnostics.
