The cell was designed, built, programmed and entered into the competition by the robotics team at Ohio Northern University.

Nercon Engineering and Manufacturing,Oshkosh, Wisconsin, will use the KUKA KR 180 PA palletizing robot in its new system to load and unload mixed product from a tri-level accumulating conveyor system. The KUKA KR 40 robot will be used in the company's new order picking cell.

SHL Automation will use the KUKA KR 16 robot in its Automated Grinding system. The new system is designed to grind, scotch and measure door handles, and allow manufacturers to improve worker safety and product quality. The KUKA KR 500 robot will be used as the building block of Primal Rides’ new robotic gaming ride. The interactive ride can be designed to match customer’s requirements in theme, intensity and realism. Additionally, the ride offers the option to cost effectively change themes to adjust to rider appeal. Primal Rides will be showing a scaled down concept version of the ride on their booth (#4004) at the IAAPA Expo in Atlanta, Georgia November 15-18, 2006.

KUKA has been selected by Dyco Inc. as its robotics supplier for its new robotic bulk palletizer system. Dyco will use the KUKA KR 180 PA palletizing robot fitted with head tooling in its robotic bulk palletizing system which will give manufacturers the flexibility to palletize multiple empty plastic bottles and bottle configurations with minimal downtime between change over.

KR 100 robots are designed for tasks requiring high speed accuracy including welding, cutting and measuring applications. The robots' speed and accuracy will allow manufacturers to increases cost-effectiveness of a welding cell by reducing scrap in applications such as laser cutting. The robots have a payload capacity of up to 100 kg and reaches up to 3000 mm and, despite their size and reach, are extremely accurate a path repeatability of approximately 0.1 mm.

Kuka Robotics Selected by C.M.H. Manufacturing to Provide 7 Axis Robot for Alluminum Ladling Application  - 03/22/06
The 6-axis KUKA robot is fitted with an end of arm tool to create a 7 axis ladling robot to be used for pouring molten metal. The robot’s 7th axis gives it an additional 360 degrees of rotation allowing it to pour the molten metal consistently and then clean the ladle of leftover oxide waste by inverting the ladle to remove the waste.
 
Kuka Robotics Announces Injection Molding Function Package  - 03/13/06
The new package will allow customers to integrate robots into any Injection molding machine (IMM) from 100 to 6000 tons with less installation and engineering time. The standardized package is designed for any KUKA robot being used for part removal. The package includes an SPI interface between the IMM and the robot, a Festo DeviceNet Valve stack with vacuum generators, energy supply and pneumatic tubing from the base of the robot to the 6th axis faceplate.
