Invata Intralogistics supplies software to ShopJimmy
January 17, 2013 – Invata Intralogistics announced a multi-phase build out of a new 289,000 sq ft fulfillment center for ShopJimmy.com’s North American operations in Burnsville, MN.
Invata's initial involvement in the project was at the strategic planning phase. Having submitted a financial plan and fulfillment center design that would justify leaving a 3PL and best accommodate the company's aggressive growth projections, Invata then assisted in the site search. Once a building was chosen, Invata modified the design to the specific site.
The build out will feature AS/R shuttle technology, conveyors, sorters, pick-to-light, put-to-light, in-motion weighing, print/apply, expandable work station and processing capabilities, and a scalable inventory management system that will allow the current inventory of 400,000+ TV parts and accessories to more than double in the coming years.
The system will be powered by Invata's software suite that provides warehouse management, warehouse control, real-time material handling control, and transportation management in a single seamlessly integrated platform. The system is delivered with simple, scalable architecture, which will easily adapt to ShopJimmy.com's current and future needs.
