Byline Article and White Paper Submission Guidelines for Automation.com

Automation.com publishes byline articles, white papers and application stories written and contributed by industry professionals and/or manufacturers. We also highlight selected items in each issue of our Automation Weekly e-newsletter and in our Portal Topic e-newsletters.

Article & Story Submission Guidelines:

• Articles and White Papers cannot be commercial in nature and cannot represent a sales pitch for a product, service, or company.  Please remember that our audience is interested in technical solutions to automation and control problems.  You are free to identify the author’s affiliation with a company and include one mention of a trade name or trademark in the body of the article.
   
• When writing the article, please keep our readers in mind.  Write something tailored to their interest.  View Demographic Information.
   
• For byline articles, please use Microsoft Word and include the author’s title, author information, keywords, abstract, introduction, headings, and references.  Include any images and tables in the body of the article near their reference whenever possible.
   
• Please also include any article images as separate e-mail attachments in .GIF or .JPEG format. Images must be no wider than 500 pixels.
   
• White papers with embedded images and tables can be submitted in PDF format. Rather than republishing the white paper on Automation.com, we will provide a link to the PDF document instead.
   
• Please limit your article length to 1500 words. Since we are publishing online we can be more lenient, but keep the reader in mind - shorter is always better.
   
• Please provide a brief (25-50 words) biography of the author for publication with the article.
   
• Send your article, biography and any images and tables as separate attachments to content@automation.com.
   
• Material for any of our e-newsletters must be provided a minimum of two week before issue date. See Media Kit for Editorial Calendar
   
• For inclusion in a particular e-newsletter, please indicate the topic and drop date in all your correspondence. See Media Kit for Editorial Calendar
