| ABB promotes Daniel Huber to manager of Open Control Systems | ||

November 8, 2009 ABB announced that Daniel Huber has been promoted to Business Unit manager for the companys Control Systems business within the Process Automation Division. He will be responsible for the global product business of ABBs vast portfolio of control systems, including its flagship Industrial IT Extended Automation System 800xA. ABBs extensive portfolio of control solutions significantly improves process applications of all sizes across the entire range of process industries. In addition to System 800xA, these solutions include the Freelance 800F, Compact Products 800 as well as ABB's large installed base of traditional control systems. In his new role, Huber will also have the business responsibility of specific system solutions, applications, and services for the life science, specialty chemical, food, beverage and printing industries, and help to build and strengthen ABBs network of third party sales channel partners. Most recently, Huber was global Technology Manager for ABBs Process Industries Products business, and oversaw product roadmaps and forward evolution for ABBs control systems portfolio. He joined ABB in 1987 and has held numerous positions in Research and Development, product management, marketing, sales, service, and business development in ABBs Power Generation and Utility Automation businesses, as well as Corporate Research. He has also held similar positions at Adtranz and General Electric. Huber holds an advanced Management degree from the Business School of St. Gallen in Switzerland, as well as engineering degrees from University Hagen and the University of Applied Science in Offenburg in Germany.
