ACKSYS Introduces Compact & High Performance Serial to Radio (WiFi) Gateway

ACKSYS widens its range of wireless solutions by introducing a compact and affordable serial to Ethernet WiFi gateway.

Product relies on the IEEE 802.11b standard (2.4 Ghz) and is IEEE 802.11g compatible, it features a full high speed serial interface (up to 250 Kbps) available on a male SUBD 9 connector.

The link is made safe by a WEP 64/128 bits encryption key, the nominal range is 300 m (open space) for a 11 Mbps binary rate, emitter power is +15dBm while receiver sensibility is -84dBm.

It’s size is extremely compact (L:79 x W:58 x H:23 mm), it can be connected to any equipment equipped with a serial port, consequently opening to equipment access to the wireless world.

It is powered from a +5VDC power source on a jack type connector, total power consumption doesn’t exceed 3W.

LEDs indicate serial and WLAN network activity.

WL-DONGLE supports the following modes : TCP Client / Server, TELNET RFC2217, COM port redirection, TELNET server, raw, point to point (AD-HOC) and the serial MODBUS to MODBUS/TCP gateway.

Device administration is achieved by using the web browser installed on your computer or from TELNET.
