Pack Expo 2006 LIVERMORE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 24, 2006--Adept Technology will be showcasing the world's fastest commercial robot in its booth at the Pack Expo 2006 show in Chicago, IL. The Adept designated "Quattro" Drive robot was designed specifically for part picking and packaging applications. Quattro drive will deliver the highest speed and lowest cost, pick-per-minute, extended part size and weight capacity and a much larger work envelope than currently available from competitive Delta, Cartesian, articulated and SCARA class robotics. "Adept controls have been incorporated into most commercial Delta robots," said Robert Bucher, CEO of Adept Technology, Inc. "Adept has the largest installed base of vision guided robots especially when combined with part conveyers and belts. Adept is the most successful SCARA robot in the packaging industry. The new Quattro drive combines this experience with Adept innovation. We think that Pack Expo is an excellent venue for previewing this robot. It will change the standard for automation performance in the packaging marketplace." About Adept Technology, Inc. Adept Technology, Inc. develops and markets motion control and machine vision software, intelligent vision-guided robotics systems and extensible controls technology on a global basis. The Adept motion and vision controls platform is both multi-brand and multi-generational. The unique universal robot controller is integrated within Adept's portfolio of intelligent assembly and material handling robots and has been extended to other non-Adept automation and robot mechanisms.
