July 12, 2009 - Applied Motion Products added CANopen communications to the SV series Step Motor Drives.

Adding a CANopen option to the SV series Servo Drives adds a third drive to Applied Motions list of CANopen compatible products, with more to come.

The SV drive develops 7A continuous and 14A peak and has eight digital inputs, four digital outputs and two analog inputs.

SV CANopen drives have Applied Motion’s Q programming language on board. This has the added advantage that Q programs written and stored in the drive and then a command can be sent over the CANopen network to trigger the program. The user can also read and write to registers over the CAN Network changing parameters within the stored Q program.
