Pepperl+Fuchs increases rating on AS-Interface cable adapter

April 26, 2009 - Pepperl+Fuchs’ VAZ-2FK-B3 AS-Interface Flat-to-Flat adapters are now rated for 8A operating current. These low-profile adapters facilitate the quick connection of two AS-Interface cables or two 24VDC auxiliary power cables. They feature a robust one-part design with IP67 / IP68 / IP69k protection. The compact 19mm x 26mm x 40 mm housing is less than 1/3 the size of competitive options, and easily fits into a cable tray or can quickly be screw mounted to the side of a machine. They boast a very attractive starting list price of just $13.

The 8A rating is very significant in that it allows users to transfer the same current as competitive models in a smaller, lower cost package. And with the ability to connect two cables and transfer 8A of current, users will be able to use these devices to quickly and inexpensively connect machine sections at full current.

Because of its simplicity, AS-Interface is an ideal wiring solution for machines that are built, tested and broken down for shipment before being reassembled at the customer plant.
