AXIOMTEK announces IMB201 Industrial Motherboard

Taipei, Taiwan June 27, 2007- AXIOMTEK launched a high performance industrial motherboard, the IMB201, which supports LGA775 socket Intel Core2 Duo processor with a 533/800/1066MHz front side bus and features an advanced Intel Q965+ICH8DO chipset. With Intel Dual-Core processing technology, the IMB201 provides the excellent performance to handle multitasking and to run multiple applications simultaneously. This industrial motherboard is specially suited for the solutions which need more effective computing and excellent graphics performance, such as digital video recorder (DVR), digital security surveillance, gaming machine, point of service system (POS), video server, and intelligent transportation system (ITS).

“Powered by the latest Intel Q965 Express chipset with special features, the IMB201 particularly fits many high-end embedded computing solutions with advanced memory performance, graphics, manageability, responsiveness, noise reduction and data protection,” said Nelson Lu, Product Manager of AXIOMTEK’s Industrial PC division. “Moreover, combined with the mainstream Intel Core2 Duo processor, the industrial motherboard becomes an impressive computing platform offering high-performance, low-power for interactive client applications.”

Four DDR2 DIMM sockets on the IMB201 have a maximum memory capacity of 8GB. VGA function with Intel GMA 3000 Architecture is built into the Intel Q965 express chipset which delivers powerful graphics performance and richer visual color, and the board has a maximum video memory of up to 256MB, which is shared by the system memory. To meet a wide range of application needs, the IMB201 has integrated six SATA ports with transfer rate up to 300MB/s and features software support for RAID 0/1/ 5 to ensure reliable data storage and protection. Additionally, this industrial motherboard provides four PCI slots, two PCIe x1 slots, and one PCIe x16 slot typically required in applications needed a large number of peripheral cards are installed. When higher graphics computing abilities are needed, the IMB201 provides an advanced PCIe x16 expansion interface to support the latest high performance graphics cards.

Available with two Gigabit Ethernet ports thru PCIe interface, the IMB201 provides perfect network connectivity through Realtek RTL8111B Gigabit Ethernet controller. The onboard Realtek ALC888 Audio codec brings great multi-media environments. Moreover, it comes with rich I/O features include one floppy, ten USB 2.0, two PS/2 (keyboard and mouse), one RS-232/422/485 ports, three RS-232 ports, and two RJ-45 ports. Other features include hardware monitoring and Watchdog Timer (1~256 seconds) which monitoring system for user.

The IMB201 is RoHS compliance and will be available in the early of August, 2007.
