Banner Introduces Electrostatic Discharge-safe Light Screens
bannerengineering.com—January 12, 2006—Banner Engineering’s EZ-SCREEN® line of machine safety products now includes models that dissipate electrostatic discharge (ESD). These ESD-safe optical safety light screen systems have nickel-plated housings and end caps and have dissipative lens assemblies. ESD-safe light screens are ideal for a wide variety of safe guarding applications in the semiconductor and electronics industries.

ESD-safe EZ-SCREEN models have the same features as standard models, including the following:

  • They provide non-contact machine guarding for finger, hand and ankle detection.
  • Self-contained emitter/receiver pairs do not require a separate control box.
  • Excellent optical design simplifies alignment and maintenance.
  • 14 mm resolution models provide finger, hand and ankle detection with a range of 0.1 to 6 m.
  • 30 mm models provide hand and ankle detection with a range of 0.1 to 18 m.
  • Clear visual diagnostics simplify setup, operation and maintenance.
  • Each receiver has selectable trip or latch output.
