.jpg) Minneapolis, MN - April 20, 2007 - Banner Engineering Corp. introduces the A-GAGE® EZ-ARRAY™ two-piece measuring light screens for high-accuracy sensing in tough applications. The cost-effective EZ-ARRAY excels at high-speed, precise process monitoring and inspection, profiling and web-guiding applications. It offers quick and simple installation, and uses closely spaced infrared beams to detect objects as small as 5 mm; edge resolution is 2.5 mm. Emitter and receivers are available in 10 lengths with 5 mm beam spacing for precise measuring at ranges to 4 m. Configuration options include 14 measurement modes, three scanning methods, two analog and two discrete outputs and a serial output. EZ-ARRAY emitter/receiver pairs are priced as low as $1,010. "The EZ-ARRAY offers quick and simple installation with the sophistication to handle the toughest sensing applications and is priced 50% less than comparable alternatives,” said Brad Johnson, Banner’s measurement sensors product manager. “Controller functionality is built into the receiver, so basic setup requires no controller, software, or PC.” Johnson adds, “Easy-to-use software is included for advanced configuration, using a PC.” Applications. EZ-ARRAY measuring light screens are ideal for applications such as on-the-fly product sizing and profiling, edge-guiding and center-guiding, loop tensioning control, hole detection and parts counting. It is suited for a wide variety of uses in the packaging, printing, lumber, automotive and metal stamping industries. Examples include the following: The EZ-ARRAY is available in ten lengths from 150 to 1800 mm with an exceptional working range of 400 mm to 4 m to accommodate virtually any application.
