Minneapolis, MN - February 5, 2007 - Banner Engineering Corp. kicked off the 2007 racing season by capturing 2nd and 4th place finishes out of 44 starters in the GT class of the Rolex 24 at Daytona this past Saturday/Sunday. The Banner Racing Team fought a close battle at the Daytona International Speedway and placed 12th and 14th overall among the 70 cars competing in two race classes. This was the first official running of Banners new GXP.R racecars and both performed beautifully despite periods of rain and slick track conditions. Leighton Reese, driver of the #06 car, said proudly after the race, It was Pontiac reliability, our drivers consistency and the dedicated teamwork of the Banner Racing crew that allowed us to be in contention for the win in the Rolex 24 after 23 hours of racing.
