| Banner's Dave Fletcher to Tout Vision Sensing at Metalform in Nashville | ||
|
||
March 14, 2006Dave Fletcher has spent 20 years helping customers in the metal stamping industry make the most of vision sensors, and hell be sharing his experience, insights and tips with METALFORM Nashville attendees on March 22. Ive seen the use of vision sensors in metal stamping and fabricating boom in the past three years, as the usefulness and affordability of vision sensors continually improve, says Fletcher, metal stamping industry specialist for Minneapolis-based sensor manufacturer Banner Engineering. Vision sensing has great potential as a tool for mistake-proofing in the pressroom, helping make a significant difference in the industrys ability to compete globally. Fletchers 2-hour talk, called How Vision Sensors Are Being Applied to Improve the Quality of Formed and Fabricated Metal Parts includes plenty of stories and pictures from the shop floor, including hole, burr, and slug detection. Fletcher will discuss how to determine if an application is a good candidate for a vision inspection and how to select the right sensor, lighting, and lens. The talk is scheduled for March 22 at 10 A.M. METALFORM is North Americas comprehensive conference and exhibition for the stamping and fabricating industry. The regional METALFORM Nashville runs March 21 through March 23 at the Nashville Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
