Barry-Wehmiller Design Group Names Three New Partners

September 15, 2011 — Ron Hefley, Ed Perek and Dan Ryan were promoted  to the position of Partner in the St. Louis-based engineering consulting firm.

Ron Hefley began his career with the Design Group in 1997 and joined the firm as an Electrical Engineer following his graduation from the University of Missouri. Hefley was a successful Project Engineer and Project Manager in the firm’s St. Louis office for the first 10 years of his career. In 2008, Hefley relocated to Chicago as part of a career advancement opportunity to expand the firm’s Chicago regional office. He has consistently demonstrated strong leadership and client development skills, and he is currently leading Design Group efforts with several major client accounts.

Ed Perek joined the Design Group’s Sacramento office as a Director in 2006 after 18 years with the Campbell’s Soup Company, where he served as plant engineering manager. Since joining the firm, Perek has been instrumental in leading a Process Design development initiative for the firm as a part of its organic growth vision. This role included the creation of an engineering organization dedicated to this service offering and helping the firm drive client development. Under Perek’s leadership, the results of this organic initiative have surpassed all initial expectations, and Process Design is now the fastest growing service sector within Design Group.

Dan Ryan began his career working for several large equipment companies in the packaging engineering industry. Ryan joined Barry-Wehmiller Companies in 2003 and excelled in the Design Group as a Project Manager. He proceeded to build strong relationships with key clients in the firm’s Western Region. In 2007, Ryan relocated to Modesto, Calif., with his family to establish a new expansion office for Design Group, and since that time, Design Group–Modesto has become a substantial engineering office for the firm. Under Ryan’s leadership, the winery industry is now one of the firm’s most important market sectors.

“Each of these new partners has demonstrated outstanding leadership, technical competency, client skills and a sustained commitment to helping the firm achieve its vision,” Joseph Wilhelm, Managing Partner, said. “We are thrilled to recognize their contributions through these promotions, and I am confident that their continued leadership will play a significant role in achieving the Design Group vision to build a 1,000 person engineering consulting firm.”
