| Baumüller Introduces Sophisticated Direct Drive Technology |
 Baumüller continues to play a pioneering role in the area of direct drive technology Nuremberg/Hartford. The high-performance high-torque motors (DSTs) from Baumüller are a powerful alternative to geared motors. In standard form, they typically find application in printing presses or in extruders in the plastics industry. What's more, they require very little maintenance. Since 1991, Baumüller has been a trailblazer in the area of direct drive technology. The success achieved by the Nuremberg-based automation company is clearly reflected in its unique selling propositions: the motors offer high torque at low speeds. The utilisation of the minimum number of mechanical components not only enhances the dynamic response qualities of the machine but also significantly reduces wear and idle times. In addition, the price trend in the electronics and sensor technology areas is also conducive to the cost-effective utilisation of electric direct drives in the industrial environment.
