| Beckhoff Automation announces Pluggable Wiring for Bus Terminal I/O | ||

.jpg) KS series brings new wiring flexibility options to Beckhoff I/O family MINNEAPOLIS, May 25, 2006. In order to increase wiring options for I/O users, Beckhoff Automation has expanded the Bus Terminal I/O system to include pluggable connections. The new KS series features the same wiring procedure as the highly successful KL line of I/O which had sales of over 1.5 million units in 2005. Users now have a choice of a one-piece I/O module with integrated terminals or a two-piece design with removable connectors for maximum installation and maintenance flexibility. The KS series Bus Terminals enable complete wiring to be removed as a plug connector from the face of the I/O housing without the need for tools. The connector can be removed from the Bus Terminal assembly by pressing an unlocking tab. Users insert the new I/O component and re-plug the connector in with the wiring. This reduces installation time and the risk of wiring errors. The familiar dimensions of the KL Bus Terminal only had to be changed slightly to create the new KS series. The new connector adds about 3 mm to the housing width. The maximum height of the Bus Terminal remains unchanged. Bus Terminals from the KL and KS series can be mixed and matched on the same I/O node without restrictions.
