Belden announces two new DeviceBus cables
October 25, 2006 - RICHMOND, IN - Belden has added two new cables to its extensive line of IndustrialTuff DeviceBus cables for use in ODVA DeviceNet industrial networking environments. The new cables - Product No. 1345F and 1346F - featuring TPE jackets and low temperature performance, provide added flexibility. Both cables offer excellent weld splatter, oil, solvent and abrasion resistance in harsh industrial environments.

In addition, Belden has added new Red jackets to several of its DeviceBus cable codes to designate DeviceNet safety. The entire family of Belden DeviceBus products offer data and power functionality in a single cable for reduced cabling and installation costs. Depending on the application, the user can choose from an assortment of DeviceBus cables, which are typically designated as either Class 1 (600V) or Class 2 (300V), and Thick, Thin, Mid or Flat. They can be used for either trunk or drop applications, depending on the system speed and overall end-to-end distance.

Some significant features of various Belden DeviceBus cables include:
  • Fully compliant with ODVA specifications.
  • TC-ER and PLTC-ER ratings are applicable on certain cables.
  • Round versions are especially noise resistant.
  • Most versions offer heavy-duty sunlight- and oil-resistant PVC jackets.
  • Two Class 2 cables (Product Nos. 3083A and 3085A) have Yellow CPE jackets
    for extremely harsh environments.
  • In paired cables, the power pairs have PVC or PVC/nylon insulation and data pairs have either FEP or F-R Propylene insulation.
  • Three Class 1 cables (Product Nos. 7896A, 7897A and 7900A) are designated for cable tray use and are able to occupy the same tray as 600V cables.
  • RoHS compliant and CE approved.
