| Binder-USA enhances Series 712 subminiature connectors | ||
|
||
August 6, 2009 - Binder-USA expanded its M9 product line with a robust metal connector shielded with an iris spring. This addition to the Series 712 subminiature connectors is ideally suited for industrial and commercial applications used in harsh environments. The new connectors feature an internal iris spring, which simplifies the connection between the cable shield and the connector body. This concept allows fast and easy installation of a braided or metal foil shield with 360° protection from electromagnetic interference. The new M9 metal connectors have a diameter of only 14mm, great for applications with limited space. Both male and female connectors are offered with 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 and 8 gold-plated contacts. The cable outlet accepts cable diameters from 4mm to 5.5mm. When properly mated the connection is IP67 rated preventing the ingress of liquids and debris. Both male and female field-attachable cable connectors are offered with this new feature. Multiple styles of panel-mounted receptacles are available to mate with the new connectors. The new connectors can also mate with the Series 702 M9 cordsets. Binder-USA, LP is a subsidiary of Franz Binder GmbH & Co., a German-based designer and manufacturer of circular connectors and cordsets for use in industrial environments including factory automation, process control, and medical technology applications. |
