B&R adds DVD burner to industrial PCs
November 30, 2006 - The B&R APC620 and Panel PC industrial PCs come standard with USB interfaces. To make data exchange more simple and convenient, B&R also offers a robust drive combination with optional IP65 protection and a DVD burner for industrial applications.

All drives integrated
The new USB drive combination includes a DVD-RW drive that can read and write all standard DVD formats. In this way, B&R allows for the continuously increasing need for high-capacity memory media. In most cases the capacity of a CD-RW is still sufficient. By integrating the DVD burner, B&R is preparing to accommodate the trend of recording more and more production and quality data. As a convenient tool for writing to CD-RW and DVD-RW media, the Nero OEM Suite 1 is available as an option.

Additionally, a floppy-disk drive, a CompactFlash slot and a front-side USB 2.0 interface are all integrated, which can be used, for example, to connect a USB flash drive. All drives and the USB interface are easily accessible from the front of the PC.

Industrial standard installation
The drive combination meets all industrial requirements, and its metal housing makes it very robust. It is easy to mount in a switching cabinet cutout using the supplied mounting brackets. An optional cover is available to provide IP65 protection for the front.
