| B&R Announces Panel PC – Now With a 12.1 Inch SVGA TFT Display |
 The Panel PC 700 combines an industrial PC and display in one device. This variant is the first choice where installation is required in small spaces. Boasting a modular structure and well thought-out placement of interfaces and drives, the Panel PC provides optimal adaptability and ergonomics. All connections are placed on the top of the housing so that the installation depth is not increased by protruding connectors. Numerous variations In addition to the existing variations with 10.4" VGA TFT and 15" XGA TFT displays, the Panel PC is now available with a 12.1" TFT SVGA display. All devices have an analog resistive touch screen. The rest of the components are modular and can be expanded. For example, a second Compact Flash slot or a hard disk can be added to the integrated CompactFlash slot. This allows the developer to find the most suitable mass memory combination for his application. Highest levels of performance with Intel® Pentium® M processors The Panel PC 700 with an Intel® Pentium® M processor and Intel® 855 GME chipset is available for high-performance applications that require a powerful processor. This processor generation, developed for mobile computing, provides the performance of a Pentium 4 system with lower power consumption. These processors cover a wide range, from 400 MHz to 1.8 GHz. This allows the Panel PC to be optimally adapted to any application. Fan-free The combination of higher processing power and lower consumption allows the system to be fan-free. This is a considerable advantage in industrial applications since it means the elimination of maintenance such as regularly changing out fans. All components that require special cooling are placed on the board so that the heat is distributed directly to the large heat sink on the back of the device. Robust for harsh industrial environments – Long lasting reliability B&R considers the importance of long-term availability when choosing which components to use. After all, the product life span is ultimately ten years or more. Furthermore, the use of B&R industrial PCs in tough production environments places special demands on reliability and longevity.
