B&R Industrial Automation News
| B&R Introduces Easy-To-Integrate Valve Manifolds |
B&Rs XV module connection concept offers the possibility of integrating pneumatic valves of most well-known manufacturers directly into the system. Up to 24 digital outputs for up to 24 valves are located in a compact DSUB housing. Applicable for all pneumatic valves The newly developed B&R XV module connection concept makes it possible to add valve manifolds from Buerkart, Festo, Bosch Rexroth, Norgren, SMC and many other manufacturers to an already networked environment without any problems and with minimal configuration effort. The connection is made directly using a 25-pin connector, the so-called multi-pin connector, which provides openness superior to all other leading manufacturers. High degree of integration The compact solution to simply integrate the pneumatic control directly in an automation system creates considerable savings possibilities for the user. Another point worth mentioning is e.g. the reduced amount of wiring required, especially for configurations with a large number of valves. Smaller module connections also benefit from cost savings due to the different number of channels for the valve manifold connection. Reduced Costs Valve manufacturers typically charge a premium for connections to other fieldbus systems. With the new B&R XV module connector the customer can use standard valve manifolds without incurring extra charges. Application Possibilities Open fieldbuses - The use of B&Rs X20/X67 bus controllers allows for freely selectable fieldbuses e.g. CANopen, DeviceNet, Profi Bus, ETHERNET Powerlink, which additionally multiplies the possible fields of application.
