B&R Introduces Industrial PC with Multiple Operator Stations

B&R Introduces Industrial PC with Multiple Operator Stations
Operating personnel are guaranteed fast and error-free access to machines and systems thanks to the remote input/output stations provided by B&R. The new B&R Automation PC APC620 perfectly meets this demand with up to four panels for user-friendly operating and monitoring.

B&R integrated the Short Distance Link in the APC620 for industrial applications. This allows transfer of all communication channels (display, touch screen, matrix keys, LED and service data) over a distance of up to 50 feet (15 m) using a single cable. USB transfer is also supported. Therefore, machine data can be exchanged locally right on the panel e.g. via USB memory stick. Booting from USB devices is also supported.

The APC620 offers the possibility of operating several panels in the daisy chain. An additional panel displaying the same picture content can be connected to the first Automation Panel. A distance of 50 feet (15 m) is also possible for this connection, so that the second panel can be operated up to 100 feet (30 m) from the APC620.

APC620 with Pentium® M and Celeron® M CPUs allows the connection of another line with two Automation Panels. These panels display different picture content than the panels in the first line (dual independent display). This is where Short Distance Link or Long Distance Link for distances up to 270 feet (80 m) come into play.

Alternatively, the same picture content can also be displayed on all four Automation Panels (display clone). To avoid errors, only one of the panels can be set active at a time. This enables the APC620 to provide maximum flexibility for industrial applications.

The matrix keys are configured with a user-friendly and easy to operate software tool, the Key Editor. The function of each key can be defined individually. The keys can be assigned four levels.
