B&R opens regional office in Los Angeles

June 21, 2007 - B&R USA has been contributing to B&R’s worldwide success with continuous expansion in the US market. The opening of B&R’s new regional office in Los Angeles, CA in May 2007 sets another milestone for continued growth in sales and market share in the US. B&R’s new presence in the Southwest will allow our company to introduce the B&R solution to new customer potentials in strong regional industries like packaging, semiconductor and machine tool. Additionally, being there locally allows B&R to provide even better support to some large machine manufacturers in this region that are already using B&R technology for the development of their innovative machine applications. “I am very excited about the opportunity to grow B&R sales in the southern CA sales territory,” says Paxton Shantz, new B&R Regional Manager for the B&R office in Los Angeles, CA.

B&R USA, based in Atlanta, GA, has been working closely with their customers since 1987. Since then, B&R USA has continuously grown as a sales and support organization through both direct sales offices and B&R’s unique Automation Partner distribution network. Our distribution Partners, which are independent companies with an exclusive B&R sales territory, provide excellence in automation for our customers locally. To date B&R USA has entered into business relations with a total of 9 successful US distribution companies. With 24 offices throughout the US, covering a territory of more than 27 US States B&R is truly there for its US customers locally. Further expansion is under way and B&R US has set itself the ambitious goal to cover most US States with local representatives by the end of 2008.

B&R’s worldwide success
The Upper Austrian automation specialist Bernecker + Rainer Industrie-Elektronik GmbH (B&R) in Eggelsberg achieved total sales of € 235 million in 2006 compared to € 190 million reached in the previous year. This reflects an increase of over 23%. During this time, the number of employees has increased to over 1,500 worldwide. Over 1,000 of these employees work at B&R’s headquarters in Eggelsberg, Austria, where the production, development, and administrative facilities are located. This isn't simply a result of increased activity in the automation market; rather, it is based on increasing internationalization and constant innovation. B&R continues to invest approximately 18% of total sales in research and development.

B&R has been setting automation trends for 27 years and is the largest private commercial company in the industry. With 145 offices in 55 countries, B&R is always close to their customers.
