March 21, 2007 - The Upper Austrian automation specialist Bernecker + Rainer Industrie-Elektronik GmbH (B&R) in Eggelsberg achieved total sales of 235 million in 2006 compared to 190 million reached in the previous year. This reflects an increase of over 23%. During this time, the number of employees has increased to over 1,500 worldwide. Over 1,000 of these employees work at B&Rs headquarters in Eggelsberg, Austria, where the production, development, and administrative facilities are located. "We are very proud of our success. It allows us to consolidate our position as a leader in innovation and technology in the area of integrated automation," says Hans Wimmer, Managing Director at B&R. This isn't simply a result of increased activity in the automation market; rather, it is based on increasing internationalization and constant innovation. B&R continues to invest approximately 18% of total sales in research and development. B&R has been setting automation trends for 27 years and is the largest private commercial company in the industry. With 145 offices in 55 countries, B&R is always close to their customers. In addition to drives, controllers, visualization systems, and process control systems, B&R's portfolio also includes fully integrated automation solutions and complete software tools. |
