April 12, 2010 Barry-Wehmiller International Resources (BWIR) announced the appointment of Chris Hric to the position of Business Development Manager for Global Engineering Solutions. Were proud to welcome to our team a former officer of the U.S. military with a distinguished record of service in the U.S., Iraq, Korea and Europe, said Jim Webb, BWIR Vice President and Senior Partner, Global Engineering Solutions. In doing so, BWIR joins with companies such as General Electric, Morgan Stanley, AT&T, Bank of America and other Fortune 500 companies in hiring former military leaders, who have proven to be innovative, independent and adaptive thinkers. These battle-tested men and women represent some of the worlds best-trained leaders, armed with the power to inspire, execute and deliver results in todays business world. An 11-year veteran of the U.S. Army, Hric commanded troops during Operations Desert Shield/Storm and in Europe, Korea and the U.S. In 1996, he commanded one of the Armys highly sophisticated M1A2 Abrams Tank Companies. Hric also has an extensive record in the engineering services industry and will bring his diverse knowledge and experience to BWIR customers nationwide. In 1998, Hric joined the foodservice division of International Paper and attended Clemson University, where he received his Black Belt Certification in Six Sigma Lean manufacturing. He used this certification to develop numerous innovative solutions, resulting in the automation of the companys paper manufacturing facility in Shelbyville, Ill., and the reduction of production costs by more than $4 million annually. In 2004, Hric joined BOC Gases as an account manager in the Midwest Region. During his time with BOC, which was later purchased by Linde Gas, Hric engineered cryogenic solutions for companies in the manufacturing, food, metals and chemicals marketplace. His focus on customer relationships doubled the revenue growth in his sales territory within five years. Chris will bring practical and cost-effective engineering solutions to a broad range of customers in the industrial machinery arena, as he has in the past, Webb added. We look forward to his contribution.
