NATICK, MA, May 7, 2008 - Cognex promoted Justin Testa to Executive Vice President. Testa reports to the companys President, Dr. Robert J. Shillman.
Mr. Testa joined Cognex in 1983 as a sales engineer. He then held a variety of increasingly responsible positions within the sales and marketing organization at Cognex before being named Vice President of Marketing in 1997. In 2004, Mr. Testa became Business Unit Manager for the companys fast-growing ID Products group, and in 2007, he was promoted to Group Business Manager of the companys Modular Vision Systems Division (MVSD) which is the largest of Cognexs two divisions, with revenues in excess of $200 million per year. In that role, Mr. Testa took on senior management and strategic planning responsibility for all four of the business units within MVSD: Vision Software, Vision Systems, Vision Sensors and ID Products.
Justins knowledge of the vision industry, his drive, and his superb leadership skills have contributed greatly to Cognexs success over the past 25 years, said Dr. Robert J. Shillman, the President, Chairman and CEO of Cognex. This promotion recognizes Justins significant past accomplishments, and also demonstrates the confidence that Cognexs Board of Directors has in his ability to continue to lead our MVSD business units as the company grows.
Mr. Testa holds a B.A. from Boston University and an M.B.A. from Boston College.
