| ControlEng adds Energy Cost Model to ServoSoft | ||

November 18, 2009 - ServoSoft adds Energy Cost Model (ECM), which calculates the system annual and lifetime energy cost, and also provides a straight forward cost benefit analysis of adding additional capacitance or switching to a regenerative drive. Energy accounts for more than 90% of the lifetime costs of most electric machinery. ServoSoft's ECM allows engineers to better understand their design from an energy cost standpoint. The ECM calculates the energy cost of the current system, as well as the potential energy cost savings if all the bleeder energy is captured and stored with additional capacitance. By running a detailed power flow analysis with the additional capacitance, ServoSoft determines the system's net energy consumption, which often results in a significant energy cost savings. ServoSoft then presents the results in straight forward dollars and cents, allowing engineers to make a cost benefit analysis of adding additional capacitance or switching to a regenerative drive. About ServoSoft ServoSoft is an engineering package for engineers who design and work with servo systems. ServoSoft sizes complete servo systems including rotary and linear motors, gear motors, gearboxes, couplings, drives, infeed, bleeder and capacitor modules, with up to 20 axes in a shared bus or stand alone configuration. |
