Danaher Motion to Focus on System Control at Hannover Fair 2006

This year Danaher Motion, one of the world's leading providers of drive technology, will again be represented at the Hanover Fair. This time the focus is on system control and system solution expertise from the Danaher Motion Group. In Hall 14, Stand J24, Danaher Motion will present its new SERVOSHAFT software package for simplifying system programming together with an animated, multi-axis system, which consists entirely of our own components. At the same time, Danaher Motion will appear as a co-exhibitor at special presentations for the Sercos Special Interest Group (Hall 9, Stand A43) and the EtherCat Technology Group (Hall 9, Stand F13).

The SERVOSHAFT software enables companies to run all three main functions of a control system on their own computers: collection and monitoring of data on the PC (SCADA function), the PLC and motion control. In addition, the control system platform is very easy to operate thanks to its graphical user interface, which considerably reduces programming times and makes it easier to optimize machine performance. Thanks to this new solution it is easier than ever to switch from old, mechanical control systems to ultra-modern, multi-axis systems. At its stand, Danaher Motion will demonstrate the impressive extent of its system solution expertise and how well this works in conjunction with the company's own system components using a fully operational complex, multi-axis system solution. All the components used here - from the controller through to the guides - are supplied by the Danaher Motion Group.

The Soft PLC in the SERVOSHAFT software package meets IEC standard 61131-3 and supports the SFC, FBD, LD, ST and IL programming languages. The motion control solution also included in the package, uses a graphical, highly intuitive programming language. It can be used to synchronise over 200 axes with the most complex motion relationships. With regard to connection, an OPC server enables communication with each SCADA system and the platform also supports data exchange with PROFIBUS and CANopen. The integrated development tools include a complete set of IEC 61131-3 editor programs and a particularly fast compiler program. The graphic Motion Editor program has access to a comprehensive group of movements. The package also includes online troubleshooting in conjunction with a soft oscilloscope.

In addition to the company's own stand, Danaher Motion will also present its own products in two special presentations: at the Sercos stand the group will demonstrate the perfect compatibility of its SERVOSTAR range with the Sercos standard, while at the EtherCat stand the SERVOSTAR 300 will be demonstrated with its own EtherCat card.
