| Datalogic Introduces MCL-Collection Software Suite for .NET Mobile Computers |
Bologna, 24th November 2005 - The new MCL-Collection is a set of integrated software tools that enables even non-skilled programmers to quickly develop data collection applications for the Datalogic JET PDA, both for batch or on-line communications. It will soon be extended to cover the entire range of .Net mobile computers from Datalogic. The MCL-Collection suite is composed of the MCL-Designer easy development tool for Windows programmers, the MCL-Net engine to collect data via wireless LAN, the MCL-Link engine to collect data via serial connections and the MCL-Client mandatory runtime programs. With the MCL-Designer, programs can be quickly designed for Datalogic's mobile computers. It has a Windows interface making it easy to click, drag and drop design elements such as text, graphics, bar codes and database interfaces. MCL-Net is a communication program for wireless exchange of files and/or data records between the host system and Datalogic's mobile computers via various communication methods like: Internet, Ethernet, GSM, GPRS. MCL-Net also offers advanced features like remote project update and load balancing for scan/data intensive applications. MCL-Link is a communication program for wired exchange of files and/or data records between the host system and one Datalogic mobile computer at a time (Point to Point). RS232 and Modem are Communications methods supported by MCL-Link. MCL Bridges for Datalogic offers advanced data mapping between the host applications and Datalogic's mobile computers with the ease of mouse-clicking. The MCL-ODBC Bridge for Datalogic provides an interface to access a database without knowing the proprietary interface. The MCL-R/3 Bridge is MCL's generic SAP R/3 communications interface, based on SAP standard technologies RFC's, IDOCs or BAPI's, MCL interfaces with all SAP R/3 functional modules (IM, SD, WM, PP, PM, PS, HR) where these are defined as standard interfaces. MCL-R/3 Bridge is SAP certified. MCL-Client for Datalogic executes applications which are created with MCL-Designer and reside on Datalogic's mobile computers, offering the possibility to run the application and control the terminal. The MCL-Collection, MCL Designer and MCL-Client for Datalogic JET can be downloaded from Datalogic's web site free-of-charge, for evaluation or promotional purposes and will run in demo mode until activated. The MCL-Collection for Datalogic is similar to the MCL-Designer for other manufacturers; in this way Datalogic's mobile computers can be added to existing installations using other products.
