DVT Adds New 1280 x 1024 Hi-Resolution Sensors to SmartImage Series

DVT Adds New 1280 x 1024 Hi-Resolution Sensors to SmartImage Series
High-Resolution, Automated Inspections Now Available in Affordable Vision Sensors

Atlanta, March 03, 2003 – DVT Corporation, the inventor of the “smart camera” over ten years ago, continues to set the pace in the machine vision revolution with its expanding selection of compact and feature-rich SmartImage Sensors. DVT’s latest pair of SmartImage Sensors, the Legend 544 and 544C are compact, versatile, and internet-enabled. Slim enough and compact enough for users to install them just about anywhere on the manufacturing line, both models feature a powerful 1280 x 1024 high-resolution CCD with Ultra High-Speed Hitachi SH4 Processor to deliver unsurpassed image quality. Built-in Ethernet connectivity lets you plug right into the existing network for real-time data transfer and remote diagnostics from any Internet connection. The top-end 544C adds Color Recognition to its list of extensive machine vision features

Microscopic pinholes, stains, streaks, scratches, wrinkles, pits, bubbles and tears are typical flaws previously missed by older vision sensors that can now be easily detected with the DVT 544 and 544C. Applications for these new, mega-pixel models include inspections of materials such as semiconductors (precision measurements of semiconductor wafers), non-wovens, plastics & glass (textiles, plastic film, magnetic tape, laminates); paper (coated paper, currency, fine paper); metal (tin plated steel, galvanized steel/copper, foils and extrusions). Both models have been designed to offer the best possible imaging performance in a compact design. In combination with a new Hitachi SH4 microprocessor, a 1280x1024-pixel CCD image sensor produces truly impressive image quality with incredible speed and precision.

At only $8995 for the grayscale Model 544 and $9995 for the color Model 544C, DVT’s mega-pixel SmartImage Sensors represent the best value for a high-resolution vision sensor. Included in the price is free training, local support and FrameWork 2.4, the machine vision industry’s most powerful software to help manage all inspection requirements.

Headquartered in Norcross, GA, DVT Corporation ignited the machine vision revolution in the early 1990s with SmartImage Sensors and has continued to upgrade, enhance and integrate the technology into the most cost-effective vision systems in the industry. Starting at $2995, all SmartImage Sensors are Ethernet ready. Whether implemented as a simple, direct connection between the SmartImage Sensor and a computer, or as a connection that crosses the globe via the Internet, DVT exploits the Ethernet's architecture to bring real-time inspections and remote diagnostics to any aspect of a company’s enterprise.
