Easy-to-Use Programming Software for Stepper and Servo Drives Features Icon-Based Programming Environment
Intuitive instructions make it ideal for all levels of users and requires no software programming experience

WATSONVILLE, CA – Applied Motion Products’ Si Programmer™ Windows-based software version 2.5.14 is now available. Version 2.5.14 supports seven Si-compatible stepper drives, including the new STAC6 drive, as well as three Si-compatible servo drives. Si (Simple Indexer) Programmer provides out-of-the-box use with integrated tuning for intuitive programming and a point-and-click graphical interface that combines motion, I/O and operator interface functionality for simple machine sequencing. As a result, Si-compatible drives easily integrate with other devices on a machine such as sensors and PLCs.

Si Programmer generates the actual motion control program based on user-selected parameters, thereby eliminating syntax errors. Once created, programs are easily downloaded, uploaded, saved and printed. Once an Si program has been constructed and downloaded the program can be executed stand-alone at power-up or from an external trigger. Additionally, Si-based motion control programs are easily transferred to other Si-compatible drives for quick and easy system upgrades.

An optional operator interface (MMI) provides an inexpensive method for inputting machine operating instructions like move length, move speed, and cycle count, as well as for selecting program branches and for decision making within a program. Si also provides the capability to control digital inputs and outputs, which is useful for interfacing with external equipment such as PLCs, sensors and end-of-travel switches.

Founded in 1978, Applied Motion Products specializes in providing cost-effective, high precision motors and motion control solutions to a wide variety of industrial end-user and OEM customers. They offer a full complement of stepper and brushless servo motors, “dumb” and intelligent stepper and brushless servo drives, and gearheads.
