| EDSA introduces Paladin Gateway for power analytics | ||
|
||
March 16, 2010 EDSA announced Paladin Gateway software architecture to open the world of Power Analytics to virtually any building management, power management, SCADA, or other data acquisition platform. Designed for software, hardware, and applications developers wishing to build interfaces between their systems and Paladin Live, Paladin Gateway is a software development kit (SDK) and associated application programming interface (API) that can imbue virtually any system with power analytics capabilities. It provides a robust integration layer that defines how to move data into and through Paladin Live as part of a seamless power analytics solution. Paladin Live sits at the confluence of energy management and energy availability with a no compromise approach to mission critical power. Once deployed, it provides unprecedented ability to manage and understand a mission critical power system. The Paladin Gateway architecture extends power analytics to the broadest possible range of existing systems and applications in use throughout mission-critical power systems infrastructure. As a result, it protects and maximizes organizations past investments hardware and software by: Paladin Gateway greatly surpasses traditional integration solutions in which users are required to connect drivers and analytics directly to a host data collection engine making them almost completely dependent on their initial vendor, and risking prohibitive switching costs. With Paladin Gateway, users can connect drivers and analytics directly to the Paladin Gateway framework, permitting the driver to serve as a plug-in AKA Agent, while analytics are served by a presentation layer. By providing a single, open architecture and one set of specifications; developers can write a driver once and repurpose it again and again. All drivers and all application interfaces will continue to function without further modification, freeing the developer from having to worry about knowing the nuances and implementation details of Paladin or other third party platforms As a result, Paladin Gateway users enjoy the benefits of a truly open solution that delivers: True platform independence by using industry best practices and open standards A flexible host collection engine that can be changed without affecting drivers or requiring new application development Maximum flexibility for Paladin Live users, and others seeking power analytics capabilities The freedom to make investment decisions are made based on quality, not vendor dependency |
