Electro-Sensors enhances TR400 Ratemeter
September 27, 2010 - Electro-Sensors announces that the TR400 ratemeter—which displays an automated system’s production rate or time in process with high accuracy—now features a system slowdown test to simply verify relay setpoints and operation. The TR400’s system slowdown test allows users to periodically test setpoints while the system is functioning normally, with no system recalibration required after testing is complete. With the system slowdown test, there is no risk of losing setpoint values, saving significant costs and time.

Once the test is activated, the TR400 gradually scales down the actual input frequency, simulating a slowdown while the system maintains its normal running speed. This function reduces the TR400’s display speed and triggers the setpoint relays, verifying the system’s response to alarm status and system shutdown conditions. The test is performed in seconds, and afterward the user can immediately return to viewing current system data on the TR400’s display. No system modifications are needed to resume normal operating conditions.

The TR400 displays rate or time in process by precisely detecting and converting 0.01 to 10,000 Hz signal input. It is available with a single channel or with quadrature signal decoding for bidirectional applications, allowing the TR400 to detect speed plus direction. Now also available with six relays and 4-20 mA analog output, the TR400 delivers a complete process control and display solution.

Applications: The TR400 ratemeter provides a particularly ideal solution for monitoring speed and direction in equipment such as:
  • Belt conveyors
  • Vibratory conveyors
  • Drag conveyors
  • Fans & blowers
  • Rotary airlocks
  • Bucket elevators
  • Pumps
  • Turbines & generators
  • Centrifuges
  • Crushers
  • Motors
