Alliance will integrate Emerson's PlantWeb architecture and major Enterprise Asset Management systems

AUSTIN, TEXAS (December 6, 2006) - Emerson Process Management and Mtelligence Corporation have formed an alliance giving users effective integration between Emerson's PlantWeb digital plant architecture with AMS Suite and enterprise asset management (EAM) systems such as SAP's Plant Maintenance system and IBM's MAXIMO system.

Emerson is a leading supplier of process automation and asset optimization solutions, and Mtelligence is a leader in maintenance intelligence solutions that link plant and business. The alliance will bridge the gap between operations and maintenance, helping process manufacturers perform advanced condition-based maintenance as well as optimized production planning.

Mtelligence's technology provides an easily implemented, bi-directional bridge to connect plant asset management information with EAM systems based on the Open O&M (Operations and Maintenance) Initiative. The Open O&M Initiative specifies how plant predictive maintenance systems, such as Emerson's AMS Suite, interact with EAM systems. The use of industry standards ensures uniform interfaces and shields users from upgrade and migration risks that plague proprietary connectivity solutions.

According to Cliff Pedersen at Suncor Energy Inc., "By leveraging the Open O&M Initiative and collaborating with Emerson, Mtelligence, and SAP, we anticipate implementing a solution which will tap into the intelligence of our smart field assets and predictive maintenance applications to further automate our work processes."

"Our alliance with Mtelligence provides significant O&M savings for our customers by enabling the use of rich predictive diagnostics from AMS Suite applications to intelligently create and document work in their EAM systems," said Craig Llewellyn, president of the Asset Optimization Division of Emerson Process Management. "Innovative solutions from partners like Mtelligence give our customers the world-class technologies to sustain their competitive advantage through improved availability and performance."

"The relationship with Emerson extends our technical capabilities through a global partner who aligns with our commitment to open standards, technical excellence and customer satisfaction," commented Paul Rahilly, CEO of Mtelligence. "Our certified interface to SAP's Plant Maintenance Module and other EAM systems enables users to optimize planning and scheduling through PlantWeb's predictive diagnostics."

Emerson is leveraging its PlantWeb Services expertise to implement the integrated operations and maintenance solution, and ensure customer value from the applications. PlantWeb technologies and services automate the flow of information on asset reliability and performance to the people who run the business. To help users apply and use field-generated information, Emerson offers world-class Asset Optimization products along with services capable of significantly improving process plant reliability. Results include improved process availability, increased productivity, and reduced equipment cost-of-ownership.
