July 27, 2009 - Ethernet Direct offers Industrial Modbus switch solutions which supports Modbus over TCP with no OPC server required. Industrial Ethernet is a trend in industrial communications and automation applications due to the fact that majority of the PLC and DCS manufacturers offer devices with a built-in Ethernet interface to allow industrial control equipment to be integrated into the industrial automation. Ethernet Direct offers Iguana series and Moose series Industrial Modbus switch solutions which comply with open standard and with NO OPC NEEDED. Modbus is used in multiple master-slave applications to monitor and program devices and to communicate between intelligent devices and sensors and instruments such as field devices using PCs and HMI. TCP/IP is the common transport protocol of the Internet providing a reliable data transport mechanism between machines. Therefore, Ethernet has become the standard of corporate enterprise systems. As a result, Iguana and Moose series Modbus switch solutions can be deployed in innumerable gas and oil, sub-station applications, building, infrastructure, transportation and energy applications. SCADA application can monitor status of Ethernet and fiber port with Modbus or OPC protocol to provide majority of applications with a seamless process. Using Ethernet Direct Modbus switches in the factory allows true integration with the corporate intranet and MES systems. The self-healing technology called DIRECT RING can recover from any network downtime in less than 50 ms on full load. In addition, the Iguana switches offer Ethernet isolation of 1500 Vrms and frame ground for EMS protection which is not a standard feature in most Industrial Ethernet devices. The shielded Ethernet port connectors offer a high reliability Ethernet environment for industrial control and automation. Two power inputs can be connected simultaneously to live DC power sources.
