Exele enhances OPCcalc and EDICTvb.Net software

August 16, 2011 - Exele Information Systems enhanced OPCcalc and EDICTvb.Net,  a pair of process calculation software products for OPC (PLCs, SCADA, Control Systems, Historians) and OSIsoft PI.  The version 3.7 release adds the ability to recalculate equations.

Under typical operation, process calculations run real-time, using current input tag values to calculate current output tag values. If a historian is available (OPC-had or OSIsoft PI), it stores the current output values, making the results available to reports and trends. In some instances, however, the calculated values that exist in the historian should be replaced. The calculation logic may have changed or input values to the calculation may have been modified (e.g. manual input or lab values).

Recalculation allows the user to re-run one or more calculation libraries for a period of time in the past.  The previously calculated data can be removed, and the calculations will execute using the updated logic and/or inputs to repopulate the historical calculation results.  All of this occurs without interruption to the real-time calculation libraries.

About OPCcalc
OPCcalc is a vendor-neutral, process calculation framework for OPC data. OPCcalc allows you to easily create and manage process calculations that read and write current and historical OPC data. OPCcalc handles all of the "plumbing" for your equations, letting you concentrate on your calculation logic.

About EDICTvb.Net
EDICTvb.Net is a process calculation framework for OSIsoft PI. EDICTvb.Net allows you to easily create and manage process calculations that read and write current and historical PI data. EDICTvb.Net handles all of the "plumbing" for your equations, letting you concentrate on your calculation logic.
