Hannover, Germany, February 28, 2007 -- The Fieldbus Foundation has unveiled its plans to exhibit at the forthcoming Interkama 2007 International Trade Fair, to be held April 16-20 in Hannover, Germany. Based on the theme "Changing the Playing Field," the Fieldbus Foundation will be demonstrating its global strengths and capabilities in process and hybrid applications on its 300m_ booth in Hall 7, stand A10.

Coordinated by the Fieldbus Foundation German Marketing Committee, the booth layout will feature purpose built kiosks offering an extensive overview of key fieldbus applications and FOUNDATION technology solutions through displays and demonstrations of registered devices, host systems, tools and services available from more than 20 of the world's leading automation equipment suppliers. Experts will be available to help visiting end users, integrators, contractors and engineers acquire a broad depth of information and to exchange experiences with other fieldbus users.

Marc Van Pelt, Vice-President of Fieldbus Foundation - EMEA Operations, is looking forward to another successful Interkama show. "The Fieldbus Foundation has exhibited at Interkama for several years now but this year's booth is our largest yet. With over 300 m_ of booth space, we will be offering live demonstrations of several key development initiatives including High Speed Ethernet (HSE) technology, FOUNDATION fieldbus safety instrumented systems (FF-SIS) and electronic device description language (EDDL) integration."

He added, "In addition to the significant presence at this year's Interkama show, the Fieldbus Foundation German Marketing Committee participated in the recent Process Management Academy (PMA) organised by the ARC Advisory Group in Neuss, and will be hosting its third German End User Council meeting in Marl on February 28th."

In addition to the technology displays and demonstrations, there will be a daily promotional event and "Happy Hour" on the booth from 17.00-18.00 during which light refreshments will be served and Fieldbus Foundation promotional giveaways will be distributed.

During the show on Tuesday April 17th, the Fieldbus Foundation EMEA Executive Advisory Council (EAC) will be holding its annual meeting. The EMEA EAC, comprised of senior executives from EMEA's leading control and instrumentation companies, was established in 2005 in response to the growing demand for FOUNDATION technology in the EMEA industrial market. The advisory council is dedicated to promoting the adoption of FOUNDATION technology by automation equipment suppliers and end users.

A briefing to the German trade press will take place on the Fieldbus Foundation booth on Tuesday 17th April from 15.00-16.00hr, followed by a reception. Dr. Gunther Kegel, chairman of the Fieldbus Foundation EMEA Executive Advisory Council (EAC) and member of the Fieldbus Foundation Board of Directors, will provide an update of several aspects of FOUNDATION technology and its impact in the EMEA region. He will present the findings of a recent market study by the ARC Group on the market adoption of fieldbus protocols and an update of the Fieldbus Foundation's recent technological developments including the FF-SIS development project and progress made by the EDDL cooperation team. He will also highlight some of the Fieldbus Foundation's EMEA marketing activities and German End User initiatives. Other members of the EMEA EAC will be present during the press event and reception which will offer the press a valuable opportunity to meet the key executives committed to high profile marketing activities within the region.
