| Francis Pang promoted to Director of R&D at JAI | ||

SAN JOSE, CA, February 22, 2008 JAI appointed Francis Pang to the position of director of research and development in JAIs San Jose, California facility. In his new role, Pang is responsible for managing the R&D group in San Jose, and for coordinating the U.S. efforts with JAIs R&D group in Japan. The San Jose facility is responsible for developing a variety of high performance cameras for the machine vision and general imaging markets, as well as designing specialized cameras and accessories for the traffic, defense, and homeland security segments. Pang has nearly 25 years of experience in the hardware development field, with nearly 15 years spent in various engineering/program management roles. Prior to joining JAI in 2006, Pang was camera engineering manager at Fairchild Imaging in Milpitas, California, where he was responsible for all camera developments in that company. Francis has been an outstanding contributor at JAI and is an excellent choice to lead the San Jose R&D effort, stated Takami Hasegawa, Senior VP of Global R&D for JAI. His technical background in image sensor technology and video camera development, combined with his management skill, will be instrumental in the continued expansion of JAIs camera business across all of the companys business segments.
