GE Fanuc’s GlobalCare Support Services Provides OEM Edge Program Members Access To Product Expertise Enabling Added Value and Minimizing Risk

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - July 19, 2006 - GE Fanuc Automation announced an innovative program for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) that provides them with a significant edge to attract new customers and expand their existing base to grow their businesses. The global program, called OEM Edge, includes integrated solutions and tools that give OEM partners a competitive differentiator in their marketplace to fuel machine growth and maximize profits.

EM Edge offers two solution categories specifically designed to address these goals – InsideEdge and EdgeEnabled, as well as an inclusive set of program tools, EdgeTools, designed for the OEM to maximize this unique partnership.

  • InsideEdge Solutions are focused on helping the OEM improve their internal productivity and efficiency through the use of cutting edge technology, applications and solutions.
  • EdgeEnabled Solutions provide the OEM with differentiating technology and solutions that are used to create a high-powered solution for their customer that distinguishes themselves from competition.

“The OEM Edge Program gives OEMs unparalleled access to valuable solutions, critical tools and vital resources designed to give them a significant edge in their marketplace,” said Paul Scanlon, Director of OEM Marketing. “And, because GE Fanuc provides a complete and scalable product solution that includes I/O, controllers, OI, and award-winning software, OEM solutions can be differentiated in the market place with minimal risk and maximum reward.”

EdgeTools include proof of concept hardware, development software, training, marketing tools, conversion services, application support, third-party device integration, and GlobalCare Support. Development software kits provide a quick and easy path to GE Fanuc’s award-winning software. The OEM Edge kits include: Proficy HMI/SCADA – iFIX, Proficy HMI/SCADA – CIMPLICITY, Proficy Machine Edition, and Proficy Historian.

As a member of the OEM Edge Program, members receive access to GE Fanuc’s GlobalCare Support Services, providing a comprehensive support infrastructure of people, processes and technologies that work together to help OEMs achieve the highest possible value from GE Fanuc solutions. In addition, GlobalCare customers are provided with upgrades and toolkits that ensure they have the latest technology improvements in a timely and productive manner.

“The InsideEdge and EdgeEnabled solutions are designed to give OEMs insight into machine productivity, efficiency, and ultimately, cost reductions, while increasing their competitive edge,” Scanlon continued. “This will put more money in their pockets.”
