GE announces EC12 embedded computer

GE announces EC12 embedded computer. The EC12, a 6U CompactPCI Single Board Computer, is designed for embedded computing environments in which entry and mid-level performance is required. The price/performance of the EC12 supports customers wanting to migrate to a new CPU generation by delivering the required levels of capability, functionality and robustness with a smooth migration path.

Using the Intel Celeron 1.86MHz processor and 2 GBytes of DDR3 memory to enable it to host a broad range of applications, the EC12 provides the extensive connectivity required by its target users, including four Gigabit Ethernet ports, five USB ports, dual VGA and DVI outputs for displays, three COM ports and four SATA disk drive interfaces. Board support packages for Windows®, Linux® and VxWorks® are provided.

The EC12 is specifically designed to provide robust operation, featuring not only soldered memory and an optional solid state disk drive for improved reliability but also the option of backing up the on-board BIOS to maximize uptime. A high performance XMC or PMC slot provides users with the opportunity to expand the EC12’s functionality in line with specific application requirements.
