Grace Engineered's ChekVolt Voltage Portal C-UL Listed
[Davenport, IA: March 30, 2007] - C-UL listed ChekVolt for NEMA 12/4/4X installations increase electrical safety by diminishing the risk of arc flash. ChekVolt provides maintenance personnel a no-touch voltage portal on the outside of electrical enclosures. The ChekVolt interface, which is externally mounted on and internally wired to an electrical panel, allows maintenance personnel to use a non-contact voltage detector 'pen' to verify line voltage before and after a main disconnect is opened. This ability to pre-verify electrical isolation prior to opening an electrical panel puts an additional safety barrier between people and hazardous voltage.

Maintenance people often carry non-contact voltage detector 'pens' to quickly verify the presence of voltage in a conductor. These devices beep or flash in the presence of voltage. The ChekVolt simply extends the line voltage from the main disconnect (or other voltage source) through a wire into an encapsulated non-metallic assembly fastened to the enclosure exterior. For a low cost and reliable installation, the single point ChekVolt R-1A has 6' leads, mounts into a 0.50" (13mm) drilled hole, and can be ordered with a full line of bright yellow nameplates.

Non-contact voltage detectors typically operate from 50/90-1000VAC, which allow users to apply ChekVolt to single or 3-phase AC power systems. Optional bright yellow nameplates alert personnel to pre-verify every voltage point prior to accessing the panel interior. Nameplates offered include various power system graphics or generic single-phase/3-phase nameplates.

Grace Engineered Products also offers the VoltageVision thru-door voltage indicators. The VoltageVision (R-3W) Power Warning Alert is a 30mm pushbutton device hardwired into the load side of the main disconnect. Redundant flashing LEDs provide external indication of voltage that is inside electrical system enclosures. The R-3W is cost effective and easily installed. Its inherent reliability reduces electrocution risks because it is hardwired to the voltage source and enhances LOTO procedures. The R-3W is "one-size-fits-all" and operates on 3-Phase AC/DC voltage from 40-750VAC/30-1000VDC. The VoltageVision is C-UL-US Nema 4X listed.

Grace Engineered Products manufactures GracePort Convenience Interfaces that bring data port connections from the inside of control panels to the outside. Grace provides over 9000 combinations of cables, connectors, and outlets in NEMA 1/12/4/4X, stainless steel, and Nema 7/9 housings. All ports are clearly marked as to their function. Orders are processed on a one-piece minimum with a typical 3-5 day delivery.
