Santa Barbara, CA - March 22, 2007 - Green Hills Software announced that it will exhibit at the IPv6 Summit in Reston, Virginia next week and participate in two of the conference sessions. Both sessions are aimed at bringing to the forefront the importance of the operating system used for securing the network device during the migration of our global networking infrastructure to the latest IPv6 standards.

Session 1:
When: Monday, March 26, 15:30 – 16:00
Where: Hyatt Regency Hotel, Reston VA
Who: Dan Mender, Director, Business Development
What: Separation Kernel Foundation for Compartmentalized Security (presentation)

Highlights:
This presentation offers insight into the challenges around developing and deploying effective security in IPv6-based networking equipment that face commercial industries and government agencies today. It explains:
  • how operating systems, designed with a separation kernel architecture, are required for effective fault isolation and containment – whether that fault is a software bug or a system attack.
  • how this design enables the network device to support absolute device security and fast system recovery.

    Session 2:
    When: Wednesday, March 28, 16:45 -18:00
Where: Hyatt Regency Hotel, Reston VA
Who: Dan Mender, Director, Business Development
What: Product Acquisition for IPv6 Networks (panel discussion)

    Highlights:
A series of presentations by industry experts will highlight what products are available for and important to an effective IPv6-enabled network. With procurement deadlines for Federal Agencies looming in the near term, it is important that Federal CIO staffs are aware of what suites of products can best serve their purposes, and what best practices have worked well in acquiring, installing and testing those products. Dan Mender from Green Hills Software will discuss the urgent need for ultra-high reliability network security products, including the capability to compartmentalize applications and network nodes in order to enhance survivability and information assurance.
