| HMS Industrial Networks New Fieldbus Gateways Interconnect Almost Any Two Industrial Networks |
The AnyBus-X Gateway family is a new product line consisting of over 120 different gateways designed to connect almost every possible combination of two industrial networks. The product family supports 15 different Fieldbus networks including Modbus RTU and Modbus/TCP. Due to equipment upgrades and plant expansions, controls engineers are sometimes faced with installations utilizing multiple networks. The Anybus-X Gateways help controls engineers interconnect between two dissimilar networks and provide flow of information throughout the entire plant. Industrial Design The small but rugged metal housing is designed for use in harsh industrial environments with standard DIN rail mounting, IP20 rating and 24 VDC power supply. The gateways are intelligent stand-alone devices supporting fan-less operation in the industrial operating temperature range. The modular design is based on two embedded AnyBus communication modules and one additional gateway processor. Ten diagnostic LEDs indicate the actual communication status of the two networks as well as the status of the gateway itself. No Programming The concept incorporates both master and slave interfaces and more than 120 combinations are available. No programming is necessary. You simply use a terminal interface like HyperTerminal to configure the module. The gateway concept primarily focuses on the transfer of cyclic I/O data between two networks. During the set-up of the gateway, the user selects the amount of I/O to be transferred between Network A and Network B. For standard I/O applications, the configuration is very easy and no additional set-up is required. The AnyBus-X Gateways supplement the range of embedded AnyBus communication modules and complete the HMS family of networking products for industrial communication.
