January 26, 2011 - Petrovis, the largest petroleum provider in Mongolia, is using Honeywell technology to improve the efficiency and safety of a newly constructed fuel depot near the capital, Ulaanbaatar. The fully automated terminal will become Mongolia’s largest and will help meet rising demand for petroleum products, particularly in the mining and transportation sectors.

Honeywell solutions – including the latest Experion Process Knowledge System (PKS), OneWireless solution and Digital Video Manager – will be used to maintain operational efficiency and strict safety standards at the Petrovis terminal. Additional Honeywell solutions being installed include the Honeywell Enraf Tank Gauging System to control, measure and monitor tank farms; fire alarm and gas detection system to improve safety and security; and a Truck/Rail Car Loading System to streamline the logistical distribution of fuel. Honeywell is also providing front-end engineering design and consulting services.

“We selected Honeywell because they could provide a total solution meeting all our safety, security and efficiency needs,” said Altantsetseg S., first deputy director, Petrovis. “When the facility is completed it will be a model of efficiency and position us for future expansion and development.”

“This is a key infrastructure project not just for Petrovis but also for Honeywell,” said Joe Spirito, sales director Asia Pacific, Honeywell Process Solutions. “We will work closely with the customer to provide the expertise and technology to help Petrovis achieve sustainable business growth in the increasingly competitive Mongolian petroleum sector.”

Honeywell International is a Fortune 100 diversified technology and manufacturing leader, serving customers worldwide with aerospace products and services; control technologies for buildings, homes and industry; automotive products; turbochargers; and specialty materials.
