July 10, 2008 Honeywell was honored by the Chinese Association of Automation as one of 2007s Best 10 Automation Enterprises during the associations 2008 Chinese Automation Industries Event (CAIE). Honeywells Experion Process Knowledge System application for Shenhua Baotous coal-to-olefin project also was honored as one of 2007s 10 Most Influential Projects. The awards recognize Honeywells commitment to help Chinas industrial sector operate safely, reliably and efficiently, as well as address the global challenges of conserving energy and protecting the environment. Highlights of Honeywells progress in China in 2007 include the opening of the global engineering service centre in Chongqing, increased installations of Experion PKS throughout the process industries, and the launch of Honeywells innovative OneWireless industrial wireless solution. In addition, Honeywell Process Solutions expanded its product portfolio and strengthened its life cycle management services. Honeywells Experion PKS application in the worlds first coal-to-olefin project Shenhua Groups coal-to-olefins project in Baotou City, Inner Mongolia was honored because the project met high standards concerning the automation of chemical processes. Honeywell Process Solutions delivered this project with the newest generation of process knowledge system solutions, which provided Shenhua Group advanced process control and helped Shenhua achieve exceptional reliability, safety and efficiency. The successful implementation of Shenhuas Coal Chemical Project is essential to Chinas energy strategy, said Thomas Liu, managing director of Honeywell Process Solutions China. The current high price of oil and natural gas has made coal an attractive energy alternative. Honeywells implementation of advanced technology and control solutions for Shenhua demonstrated Honeywells dedication to Chinas industrial sector and commitment to support Chinas economic development. CAIE is an influential annual event in Chinas automation industry. The event is designed to record and review every step of the Chinas automation development, recognize individuals and enterprises for their great contributions, display innovative automation products in a comprehensive way, and thoroughly analyze industry solutions and applications. This latest CAIE was the organizations fourth annual gathering.
