Honeywell TDC-3000 DCS Migrates to SIMATIC PCS 7 in Days

SPRING HOUSE, Pa., (May 3, 2005) – It now takes only days to migrate from Honeywell’s TDC-3000 process control system to the SIMATIC PCS 7 distributed control system from Siemens Energy & Automation.

Siemens’ new PCS 7 field termination assembly boards (FTAs) are a 1:1 match with Honeywell TDC-3000 FTA boards. Changeover is fast and simple. Siemens FTA boards have the same form, fit, and function as the legacy Honeywell boards; including the same size terminal blocks and mounting hole dimensions. The original, wired terminal blocks are simply disconnected from the Honeywell FTA boards. The SIMATIC FTA boards are then connected to the PCS 7 I/O modules.

“Our migration solution leaves existing field wiring up to the terminals and Honeywell FTA cabinets in place, eliminating risks that are typical in migration projects,” said Todd Stauffer, Siemens product manager. “In addition, Siemens process system migration expertise helps preserve customers’ investments in existing installations, minimizes downtime, and maximizes return on investment.”

Once the replacement SIMATIC FTA boards are in installed, the system is ready to accommodate the latest process control technology from Siemens, including PCS 7 process control system hardware using S7-400 controllers and Windows based operator stations.

For more information on SIMATIC PCS 7 FTA boards, Contact Siemens or visit their web site at www.sea.siemens.com or contact your local Siemens representative.
