ICONICS Pocket GENESIS Adds Alarm and Database Support for Pocket PC

National Manufacturing Week, March 18, 2002, Chicago, IL * ICONICS, a leader in the development of Web-enabled industrial automation software for MicrosoftÒ WindowsÒ operating systems, today unveiled Pocket PC support for its entire suite of Pocket GENESIS products. Announced recently by Microsoft® Corporation, Pocket PCs are small, energy-efficient and powerful Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) that not only store calendar and contact information, but also come equipped with applications that let you take your important work with you. These applications are specially developed "Pocket" versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook®, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. People who carry Pocket PCs are able to send e-mail, edit documents and access important business information. With ICONICS announcement today, this important business information can now include HMI/SCADA operator displays, reports, trends and alarm-management data for your plant or facility.

Pocket GENESIS provides three industrial productivity applications for the Pocket PC. The first of the scalable applications is Pocket GraphWorX, for performing advanced HMI functions. The second is Pocket AlarmWorX, which provides traditional alarming and acknowledgment capabilities using the OPC Data Access and OPC Alarm and Events Plug and Play standards. Also included is Pocket TrendWorX, which replays real-time and historical data in a number of trend chart display formats.
