IFAK introduces DNet Devicenet link

Magdeburg, Germany – May 23, 2007 DNet USB provides a communication link between a desktop computer or a PC notebook and a DeviceNet line. The interface is not dependent on external power supplies. It implements the current DeviceNet Standard Version 2.0 and its driver software supports the Windows operating systems Windows 9x, ME, 2000 and XP.

The DeviceNet stack works alternatively or in parallel as Master and IO Scanner or Slave. The scanner allows a dynamic change of the slave list, meaning while the DeviceNet is working, slave devices can be added to or deleted from the list. The cyclic time of the scan can be set as required by the system.

“Explicit Messaging” is performed by asynchronous command and event queues so any data lengths can be transmitted. For fast access, real-time data are kept in a separate DPRAM. The firmware supports process data exchange via “Poll,” “Bit Strobe” and “Cyclic/Change of State” connections. The Proxy functionality at the DeviceNet stack is also provided so Multi Master access for “Group 2 only” slave is possible.

Features include:
  • Device Type: Master/Scanner (0x0C-Communications Adapter)
  • Baud Rate: 125 K, 250 K, 500K
  • I/O Slave Messaging: Bit Strobe, Polling, Cyclic Change of State
  • Configuration Methods: EDS
